Help & Support

Most questions are answered below. For anything else, email support@typps.com: a real person reads it, usually within a day.

How do I play?

You are a snowball rolling down a mountain that never ends. Swipe left or right to change lane, swipe up to jump (or tap the left, middle or right of the screen). Hold a thumb down to roll faster and score more per metre. Roll over rabbits, snow piles and snowmen to fill your charge: every castle gate needs a full meter. Trees, fences and stalls fall as you plough through them, and chains of falling things fill the avalanche meter. Things with a red ring would hurt your current form: change lane or change form. A yellow ring means jump it. There is always a way through. The sun throws fireballs and melts lanes; stay on the white snow.

What are the coloured crystals?

Forms. Roll into a crystal and the ball takes its colour. White (Normal) is balanced. Blue (Ice) is fast, never melts, and slides a little on lane changes. Dark grey (Spikes) smashes rocks but is slower. Pink (Powder) has the highest jump and loses more charge when hit. Purple (Monster) crushes everything, boulders and cabins included, for six seconds, free. The ball stays the same size whatever its form: what changes is what it can roll through.

Why is my charge dropping?

Hits. A rock or a wall your form cannot take costs charge, a fireball costs charge, and a melted lane (blue is water, orange is lava) drains it for as long as you sit on it. Ice does not melt. The sun's temperature is shown next to it: the hotter it gets, the more often it throws and melts. Snow eaten without being hit builds a clean streak that charges faster, up to 1.3 times, as long as you keep changing lanes; any hit resets it. Dodging a rock by a whisker is a close call and pays points.

Some rocks have a ring whatever I do

Boulders cannot be smashed by Normal, Ice, Spikes or Powder. Purple (Monster) crushes them and pink (Powder) jumps them; everyone else changes lane. A crystal for one of those always lies on the course a little before a boulder. There is always a way through.

What is the castle gate?

Every stage ends at a castle gate that needs a full charge, 100%. Charge you carry past that pays extra. Smash it and you roll on into the next stage keeping 30%. Later stages ask you to eat a bigger share of what the course offers, so a ball that sits in one lane never fills the meter. Every metre scores, every gate pays a bonus, and your lifetime score climbs the ranks: Snowflake, Snowball, Boulder, Avalanche and so on. Each rank unlocks a trail that follows your snowball.

I died on stage 4. Do I have to start from stage 1?

No. Every stage you reach stays unlocked. The start screen lets you begin from the stage you died on, or any earlier one.

What are daily missions?

Three small goals that change every day, the same for every player. Each one completed is worth 400 rank points.

How do I change the language?

Tap the gear (Settings) on the title screen. Avalanchy is available in 15 languages. By default it follows your phone's language.

How do I turn off sound or vibration?

Both switches are in Settings (the gear on the title screen).

What is the daily reminder?

If you say yes when the game asks, Avalanchy sends one notification a day, around the time you usually play, only on days you have not played yet. It stops by itself after three unanswered reminders. Switch it off any time in Settings, or in your phone's notification settings.

How do I exit the game?

On Android, Settings has an Exit game button. On iPhone, apps cannot close themselves: swipe up from the bottom of the screen (or press the Home button) like any other app.

Why are there ads?

Avalanchy is free, and ads are what pays for it. There is a banner on the title and end-of-run screens and an occasional full-screen ad between runs, never during play. The Double score video on the end screen is always your choice. If you live in Europe, the UK or Switzerland, you can review your ad privacy choices at any time under Settings → Ad privacy options. See the privacy policy for details.

Can I move my progress to a new phone?

Not yet. Progress is stored only on the device. Uninstalling the game or Reset progress in Settings erases it.

The game stutters or runs slowly

Avalanchy draws a full 3D mountain, so very old or low-end phones may struggle. Closing other apps and letting a warm phone cool down helps. If it stutters on a recent phone, tell us the phone model and we will look into it.

Reporting a bug

Email support@typps.com with your phone model, the game version (shown at the bottom of Settings) and what happened. A screenshot or screen recording helps a lot.
